Twitter is ablaze with speculation that Apple could remove Twitter from the App store. The rumor has made it’s way to many prominent Twitter users with large followings and has gained traction with many users.
While I expect lots of leeway, there is a real scenario in which Apple/Google remove Twitter because of content moderation issues or because Twitter decides to bypass the 15%-30% cuts. Notably, we appear to now know how Apple’s App Store chief feels about the new Twitter. https://t.co/PCjOEsWA1L pic.twitter.com/LWjFCgxINA

If Apple takes Twitter out of the app store, Elon Musk should buy them next.

Anybody else worried that Apple and Google will try and take Twitter off the App Store now that .@elonmusk started allowing Free Speech?

So why the speculation?
The speculation is happening because Phil Schiller, who is responsible for Apple events and the App store, recently deleted his Twitter account. While Schiller has not made a public statement regarding why he deleted his Twitter account, public speculation is he’s unhappy with the new developments surrounding Twitter.
Elon Musk, the new CEO of Twitter recently re-instated former President Trump on Twitter after he was controversially suspended after the events of January 6th.
In a recent interview, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that he remained hopeful Twitter would uphold its moderation standard under new leadership.
