Think of your social media sales process as customer service. Aim to inform and serve, and the sales will take care of itself as long as you adhere to the next point.
Have a clearly defined next step
This is where so many business owners fall short. What comes next? What do you want your followers to do? Having a clearly defined next step is imperative to a successful social media marketing plan. There should be an obvious and organic next step. This can include:
- Visiting your website
- Reading a blog post
- Watching a video
- Entering a contest
- Tagging friends or commenting
- Subscribing to your email list
Integrate Email Marketing
Email marketing is the best friend of social media marketing. With rare exceptions, social media for business does not work without email marketing. A healthy email list is often the strongest marketing asset for many small, medium, and large businesses. Even if all you do with social media is build your email list, you’re in good shape.
